In Endeavor - Deep Waters: Unknown Seas Expansion, players return to the strategic core of the base game: developing their institute, recruiting specialists, exploring Ocean tiles, publishing journals, gaining impact, and optimizing their actions to meet the scenario’s objectives. The new tiles introduce more unique areas, featuring arrival effects, dive sites, movement restrictions, or special rules that require players to adapt their strategies.
The new Rank 5 specialists expand development options in the late game. Some allow players to publish more, explore deeper, gain resources, or upgrade their team more effectively. The new Dive tokens also add useful effects to speed up progress, recover discs, or develop attributes.
The Solo and Cooperative modes also benefit from expanded content, including additional modules, Bonus Objective cards, Setback cards, and new options to make expeditions more varied. The expansion is therefore suitable for both competitive players and those who enjoy solo or cooperative challenges.
As in the base game, the game ends according to the conditions of the scenario being played. Players then add up their impact points, objectives, and the various scoring sources related to their exploration. The player with the highest total wins the game.
