Thalassa: Naval battles on the Ancient Seas is a skirmish-level naval wargame inspired by the classical period of the Mediterranean cultures. After over three years of designing, playtesting and playing with hundreds of friends and fellow wargamers, we have focused this first edition on the Hellas region where the city-states of Athens, Corinth, Sparta and Crete are fighting against each other to maintain or expand their domains.
Through its 110 full-colour pages players will find the main rules and background of this alternative approach to the Hellenic classical world, in which we have tried to lean on the historical designs and facts to add a spin of mystical and fantasy possibility.
Players will also find the description, special rules and fleet selector of the four main states in the Hellas: Sparta, Athens, Corinth and Crete. Also within its pages, we offer players six scenarios to play in different ways that will challenge Navarchs (fleet admirals) with every game and a full list and rules for many upgrades for crew and ship to make sure your ships are always tuned to perform at their best.
