Over 30 years of street art, between power and propaganda
Cartes à jouer Theory11 - Obey Gold Edition is part of a three-deck series (alongside the Red and Collage editions) celebrating the work of Shepard Fairey, a major figure in street art and contemporary activism. The deck explores themes of power, control, and propaganda, drawing on the artist's iconic elements, including the "OBEY Giant" face and his signature star emblem.
The card back of Cartes à jouer Theory11 - Obey Gold Edition features an intricate symmetrical pattern in gold and black, integrating the "OBEY" branding into an ornate composition. The face cards (Jacks, Queens, Kings) feature mirrored illustrations of Fairey's iconic figures and propaganda-style art.
56 cards, in a richly gold-foiled, embossed tuck box
Cartes à jouer Theory11 - Obey Gold Edition contains 56 cards: the standard 52-card poker set, 2 custom Jokers, and 2 extra cards. The tuck box, made of high-quality black card stock, layers multiple gold foil stampings with sculptured embossing, featuring the "OBEY GIANT" star logo and the slogan "Manufacturing Quality Dissent Since 1989."
This deck marks the first collaboration between Shepard Fairey and theory11 since the 2012 "Rebels" deck, and is also available as part of a "Special GIANT Edition" collector's box set bundling two of each edition (Red, Gold, Collage) and a signed Certificate of Authenticity. Made in the USA by the United States Playing Card Company on FSC-certified paper, it features theory11's signature Air-Cushion Finish.
