Modern Idols, a Deck by Thirdway Industries

Modern Idols is a deck of cards designed by Giovanni Meroni for Italian publisher Thirdway Industries. Featuring 52 custom cards, it can be used with classic card games (poker, rummy, bridge, blackjack) as well as magic and cardistry. Its originality lies in its concept: a modern mythology where every court card embodies a contemporary idol (art, technology, money, science...), reflecting the values and anxieties of the 21st century. The deck comes in two colorways, Hope and Fear, sharing the same structure but offering two opposite readings of this mythology: optimism for Hope, anxiety for Fear.
