Midas is a collectible playing card deck published by Thirdway Industries and designed by Giovanni Meroni. Inspired by the Greek legend of King Midas and his "golden touch," it is conceived as "the goldest deck ever": every card is entirely covered in gold foil on both front and back, and the edges are gilded.
Beyond the opulence, the deck also evokes the tragedy of the myth — the curse of turning everything you love into cold metal. The court figures are divided into four branches of Midas' kingdom (the Scholars, the Noblemen, the Military, the Family/food), and the three jokers feature Midas and Silenus (immune, with pale skin) as well as Midas' daughter, turned to gold. Usable for any classic card game, this deck is above all a sought-after collectible.
