At the bakery run by the city's best pastry chef, his assistants compete with one another, each trying to take credit for making the best cakes. They've been told to work together, but their ambition is so great that they'll sabotage their coworkers' cakes.
The objective of the game is to be the player with the most merit points.
During their turn, players will play a card, and at the end of their turn, they will replenish their hand until they have 3 cards.
Players play their cards under one of the cakes available on the table, forming a column of ingredients. When a player adds all the necessary ingredients, they take the cake to their player area.
Cakes have two positions:
- Upright when they have been made with the correct ingredients.
- And rotated 180° when excess ingredients or ingredients not in the recipe have been added (in this case, they are worth fewer merit points).
Ingredient cards have abilities that are activated when played, provided that the total number of ingredients in the column where the card was played does not exceed the required ingredients. These abilities allow you to rotate cake cards, draw ingredient cards, swap cakes with opponents, obtain wildcard ingredients, and more.
The game ends when the market needs to be restocked and there are no cards left in the cake deck, or when the ingredient deck runs out twice (once in 2-player games).
