The Vietnam Tunnel Rats were a specialized group of soldiers who bravely scoured and cleared the underground tunnel networks used by Viet Cong and North Vietnamese forces during the Vietnam War. Armed with their wits and a multitude of smaller weapons, they faced constant dangers such as traps and ambushes. Their mission was essential to disrupt enemy operations, extract intelligence and save lives. Operating from the mid-1960s to the early 1970s, the Tunnel Rats demonstrated exceptional courage, adaptability and mental resilience as they faced the physical and psychological challenges of tunnel warfare.
