This is the first game of this scale (rigid board, large counters with rounded corners) at the brigade level depicting the Battle of the Wilderness.
Includes detailed maps and unit counters for great strategic depth. Perfect for history buffs and strategy game enthusiasts. Step back in time and immerse yourself in pivotal moments of history. Sharpen your strategic thinking and experience the intensity of combat like never before. As part of this project, we present Volume VII of the Civil War Brigade Battle series, *Wilderness 1864*, featuring the latest version (1.5) of the series’ rules.
The game is based on extensive research to ensure that each scenario is accurate in terms of unit locations and strength. *Wilderness 1864* is designed for 2 players (though you can play it solo by taking on both sides). The game is designed to last between 2 and 10 hours, depending on the scenario.
It comes with a beautiful, mounted full-color map and counters designed by Jose Faura. Relive the first battle between the two great generals of the Civil War: Grant and Lee. Playing as Lee, will you manage to halt Grant’s unstoppable advance into the Wilderness and drive him back north of the Rapidan?
As Grant, can you defeat Lee once and for all and end the war in 1864, thereby saving thousands of lives? It’s up to you...
Wilderness 1864 features 5 scenarios covering the entire two-day battle. This includes several half-map scenarios depicting the fierce fighting that took place separately along Orange Plank Road and Orange Turnpike on May 5 and 6, 1864.
