Description

Coaster Clash: Two Roller Coasters to Share with Your Neighbors

Each player takes on the role of a rival engineer tasked with simultaneously building two separate roller coasters: one with their neighbor on the left, the other with their neighbor on the right. The goal is to increase the excitement of your rides while controlling their speed, because a roller coaster that’s too fast makes visitors sick and lowers your score.

The game’s originality lies in this forced yet fundamentally individual cooperation: you must help your neighbors build good rides without ever, out of excessive generosity, giving them the points that would allow them to win.

Three Element cards, two rides, one choice at a time

The game consists of six fast-paced rounds. On each turn, every player receives three Element cards representing track segments, loops, or other ride components, and must assign one to each of their two roller coasters before discarding the third.

Each ride is framed by a Track card that defines its specific requirements and thrill bonuses, forcing the two players sharing the same roller coaster to coordinate their card choices throughout the rounds to reach the ideal speed without ever exceeding it.

The combined score of the two rides determines the best engineer

At the end of the six rounds, each player adds up the points earned by the two roller coasters they contributed to—the one shared with their neighbor on the left and the one shared with their neighbor on the right.

The player with the highest total score is declared the best engineer of the game. This double scoring system rewards those who have managed to balance their generosity toward their neighbors with the need to maintain a personal advantage across the entire park.
