On Halloween night, players take on the roles of costumed children going door-to-door to collect as much candy and as many spells as possible. The goal is to build the best collections of treats while knowing when to rein in your sweet tooth, because accumulating too many of the same type of candy makes you sick and nullifies all the corresponding points.
The game’s originality lies in its real-time collection phase: players take turns placing cards into a central jar, and anyone can slap the pile with the palm of their hand at any time to grab the cards before the others, turning each round into a race that tests both speed and strategic thinking.
The game is played in three rounds, each alternating between a harvest phase and a puzzle phase. During the harvest phase, players take turns placing a Candy or Spell card into the central pot; as soon as a player deems the contents worthwhile, they tap the stack to claim the entire pile for their personal reserve—a limited number of harvests are allowed throughout the game thanks to the Pumpkin tokens distributed to each player.
During the puzzle phase that follows, players use their Spell cards to adjust their candy counts, aiming to avoid excess types and build the most profitable collections possible.
Each candy collected is worth one point, but having more than five of the same type reduces that entire type’s score to zero, penalizing excessive indulgence. Conversely, collecting exactly five candies of the same type grants a bonus of three additional points, bringing the total to eight for that collection.
At the end of the three rounds, players add up the points from all their candy collections, and the player who best balanced risk-taking and caution throughout the game wins.
