Tobago : Volcano

In the original game, the treasure was expected under the palm trees, next to the huts, in the forests and in the mountains. Thanks to a volcano that occupies seven of the game board's squares and now rises high above the game board, lava enters the game. When setting up, each player places a triangular tile of three hexes near the perimeter of the island, one of these hexes being covered with lava; the player's counter starts on another of these hexes.

During the game, you can break the normal rules of the card game by placing an illegal card, e.g. "not in the mountains" when a "in the mountains" card was played earlier for this treasure, after which you immediately cover this card with one of the four new volcanic clue cards included in this expansion: next/not next to the volcano and next/not next to the lava. Once this treasure is claimed, the volcanic map is placed back on the side of the game area for later use.

Each time a player recovers an amulet, he adds another lava hex to the game board, whether it is adjacent to the volcano or the lava already in play. This means that the island will dynamically transform throughout the game, eventually moving treasures to places where no one previously suspected. After all, the biggest forest might not stay the biggest if it is invaded by lava, and the forests themselves might even disappear completely!

During a turn, a pawn can travel over lava - but not stop in lava - if the player spends an amulet or (if he doesn't have an amulet) discards his largest treasure map. Don't let your travel routes be cut off by the lava flow!
