Black Powder Epic battles: Zulu! - British Army Cavalry Brigade

Description

Black Powder Epic battles: Zulu! - British Army Cavalry Brigade

The Natal Carbineers were drawn from some of the more established, or better off, Natal families and were considered to be a somewhat elite unit. They were only assembled in times of trouble, but despite their part-time status they were well-equipped and armed with pistols and carbines, being capable of firing from the saddle or dismounting to give deadly volley fire. The Natal Mounted Police was created in 1873 to bolster the defences of Natal. It enlisted European officers, NCOs and natives. Their smart dark uniforms and contrasting white helmets make them a colourful addition to any General’s army on the tabletop.
The Natal Native Contingent was a large force of auxiliary soldiers in British South Africa, forming a substantial portion of the defence forces of the British colony of Natal. The Contingent saw action during the 1879 Anglo-Zulu War. Most enlisted troops were drawn from the Basuto and Mpondo people, which had had long experience fighting the Zulus.
This box lets you add a cavalry force to your British collection, giving you six mounted and eight dismounted small units of cavalrymen.
This box contains:
  • 6 bases of Natal Native Contingent Cavalry (3 Small units)
  • 6 bases of Natal Mounted Police/Carbineers (3 Small units)
  • 8 bases of Dismounted Natal Native Contingent Cavalry (4 Small units)
  • 8 bases of Dismounted Natal Police/Carbineers (4 Small units)
  • Plastic bases
