Thiercelieux is a pretty little village in the east, well sheltered from the winds and the cold, nestled between charming forests and lush pastures. The residents of Thiercelieux are friendly farmers, content with their peaceful lives and proud of their work. But for some time now, this peaceful existence has been disrupted by relentless attacks from werewolves. The villagers must take action before they all meet their end.
Behind the idyllic setting of this little hamlet lies a formidable game of bluff. The Werewolves of Thiercelieux is an immersive game—almost a mini-role-playing game—in which two factions face off: the villagers on one side and the werewolves on the other. The story is guided by a game master who narrates the events.
At the start of the game, each player receives a role card. But be careful—this card must not be revealed to the other players. The objectives of each side are opposing. The werewolves must eat the villagers, while the villagers must kill the werewolves to defend themselves.
A game unfolds in two phases. A night phase, during which the werewolves—without revealing themselves—must choose a player to devour. And a day phase, during which the villagers, having just discovered last night’s victim, debate to choose a scapegoat to sacrifice.
Many street performers add to the festivities, and each family proudly displays its coat of arms. But what if the Werewolves were to take advantage of the celebration to strike again?
Werewolves of Thiercelieux - 25th Anniversary Special Edition brings together 28 characters: the iconic roles you’ve loved playing throughout your games of the base game and its expansions.
But it also includes 4 new roles, whose unique powers will further enrich your games, making them even more unpredictable and full of twists and turns. To discover these characters, the game rules offer 4 scenarios featuring them, along with setup suggestions.
At the start of the game, each player receives a Character badge that defines their faction (Werewolf or Villager) and may grant them special powers. In this premium edition, you’ll receive high-quality badges, beautifully illustrated and accented with gold foil.
Whether you’re a Werewolf or a Villager, you’ll have to rely on your intuition and powers of deduction to figure out who’s on your side… and who isn’t.
