Jarrod est la voix derrière 3 Minute Board Games et il joue depuis 1987. Débutant avec des Histoires Dont Vous Etes le Héros suivi de la création d'un club de jeu à 11ans à Berkley Normal Middle School, apprenant aux autres enfants comment jouer à Battletech, Blood Bowl et tant d'autres. Ces jours-ci il joue à beaucoup de jeux différents et il crée même une contre insurrection (COIN) située durant une insurrection sur Mars dans 250 ans. Ses jeux favoris sont Twilight Struggle, Terraforming Mars et Star Wars Rebellion. Il est de Nouvelle-Zélande et en est très fier ! Malgré deux ans d'apprentissage du français au lycée, n'en attendez pas plus de lui que "où sont les toilettes".
Argent - The Consortium
Avis : Argent the consortium is one of the most involved and intriguing worker placement games on the market. few games in that niche have the level of interaction and customization of Argent. In this game, you are a senior wizard, campaigning to become the head of the Argent college of magic. You must win the influence of the hidden cabal of voters in order to win. Strengths: Multiple paths to victory, huge game decision space, heavily customizable game. Flaws: So many interactions can overload some players. Could be too nasty for some groups. Would best suit: Fans of worker placement games and engine builders, who want more direct player interaction than say, Agricola.
Avis : Anachrony is one of the strongest games in the worker placement genre, and a game I really enjoy playing. Its made my top shelf and I don't see it leaving any time soon. The theme is a post apocalyptic world, where a calamity is about to happen to earth. But time travel has forewarned you, so you can utilize time displacement to better prepare yourself for the coming apocalypse. Strengths: One of the rare worker placement games that feels like a unique setting. Components are exceptional. Massive variety in factions, buildings and strategies. Arguably the best solo mode on the market for a worker placement game. Flaws: Needs the powersuit expansion to look its best. Huge footprint. Step learning curve and quite rules heavy for a worker placement game. Would best suit: A a group with a model painter, who likes traditional euro worker placement games, but wants something other than castle building.
Hostage Negotiator: Crime Wave
Avis : Crime wave is the original hostage negotiator with the components dialed up to 11 and is best experienced together with the original game. The theme is exceptionally strong and well presented. You are a negotiator, dealing with a hostage taker, trying to discover their demands, talk them down, and get the hostages out safely. Strengths: Great theme, short play time, good variety, and expandable with many extra hostage takers. Flaws: Dice heavy and luck heavy at times. Needs more than just what is in Crime wave to really shine. Would best suit: A solo gamer who wants a good 10-20 minute play experience and doesn't mind luck playing a part in the game.
