Golden Geek Awards

Since 2006, the Golden Geek Awards have been presented each year to the best games according to the community of users of the BoardGameGeek (BGG) website. The awards consist of three stages:

Nominations: these take place over a month or so, during which the community nominates the games released over the past year.

Voting: this takes place over a three-week period, using the Schulze method.

Results: these are announced on the BGG website and social media. Nominees and winners are authorized to display the Golden Geek Award label on their website and game packaging.
