Escape Box Houdini Box is a high-end puzzle box designed by Puzzle Potato and distributed by Gigamic. The goal is to navigate a series of 40 mechanical and electronic challenges to open the box and access a secret compartment, in the spirit of Harry Houdini’s legendary escapes: lockpicking, breaking free from chains, and magic tricks.
What makes this box unique is its technology, which is entirely powered by ambient light via built-in sensors, requiring no batteries. Composed of 328 assembled wooden and metal pieces, it is billed as one of the longest-lasting experiences in its category, with a typical solve time exceeding 4 hours.
The experience begins immediately with handling the box, with no introductory tricks or game board: each mechanism activated or light sensor triggered allows you to advance through one of the 40 stages of the journey. The puzzles combine locks to pick, chains to free, and electronic interactions that respond to the player’s gestures once enough light has been captured.
Since the game is language-independent, it relies solely on logic, observing symbols, and physically manipulating elements, making it accessible without any language barriers.
Solving all 40 steps opens the box and reveals a secret compartment measuring approximately 5 x 2 x 2.5 cm, where you can hide a small gift, a note, or a voucher before giving it as a present.
