Earth Under Siege: Flashpoint World Killer directly continues the narrative campaign of the core game, picking up the story immediately after its events, as a far more powerful Xethan intelligence begins to direct the invasion forces from the shadows.
AEGIS operators must now face advanced enemy technologies and all-new units, while gaining access to a new progression tier—Level IV—which unlocks tactics and equipment more powerful than anything available in the core game. What sets this expansion apart is the introduction of outdoor environments, which break away from the confined corridors of the original game’s facilities and transform the way each mission is approached.
To incorporate World Killer into a campaign, players add the expansion’s campaign booklet, which features fourteen new main missions as well as five standalone Special Operations missions. The eight new outdoor terrain tiles complement the existing modular game board, introducing different viewing angles and movement possibilities compared to the usual enclosed spaces.
Operators can now advance to Level IV, unlocking forty-two new Tactics cards and eighteen Equipment cards, while the four new Enemy cards and five Complication cards further ramp up the challenge in battles against the twelve new enemy miniatures included in the box.
The World Killer campaign takes the form of a branching narrative directly derived from the two possible endings of the core game: depending on the ending achieved during the first campaign, players will only play through eight of the fourteen available missions, ensuring that no single playthrough reveals the entire content of the expansion.
Each mission concludes with either the success or failure of the assigned objective against this enhanced Xethan intelligence, with the choices made determining the course of the scenario until the final conclusion of this new phase of the conflict against the invasion.
