No Easy Ground, the World War II Wargame by Second Escape Games
No Easy Ground - Core Rulebook is the ruleset designed by Darryl Morton for Second Escape Games, succeeding the wargame Iron Cross. A scale-agnostic miniatures game, it pits two sides against each other at company level during 1944-1945. Its originality rests on suppression and tactical momentum, reinforced by a 56-card Tactical Advantage deck.
Setup and Gameplay
Each player builds their order of battle and activates units via command tokens, with reaction mechanics for the opponent. Games, driven by suppressive fire, typically last under two hours.
Win Conditions and End of Game
Victory depends on the scenario: securing objectives, destroying, or routing the enemy. The game ends after the set number of turns or when one side reaches its breaking point.
