Feya's Swamp: Mushroom Forage is the first expansion for the board game Feya's Swamp, designed by Helge Ostertag and Anselm Ostertag, illustrated by Mihajlo Dimitrievski, and published by Grail Games. It expands the magical swamp universe with a new resource—mushrooms—which come in three distinct varieties that players can harvest to complete new objectives, trade, or offer at temples to unlock powerful bonuses.
The expansion also introduces two new playable clans, each with their own Guide cards, including flying allies specialized in mushroom harvesting. Its originality lies in its two optional rule modules, “Fishing Progression” and “Construction Tax,” which can be incorporated independently, even without using the other elements of the expansion.
To integrate Mushroom Forage into a game of Feya’s Swamp, add the Mushroom Action board and the two cultivation tiles to the shared board, and offer the two new clan boards to players who wish to use them. During the game, harvested mushrooms are added to the standard resources (gold, mana, fish) and can be spent during trade or temple exploration actions to obtain advanced effects.
The “Fishing Progression” module, represented by a dedicated double-sided board, allows players to track a new progression curve tied to fishing activity, while the “Construction Tax” introduces an additional economic constraint when expanding territory.
At the end of the game, new objectives related to mushrooms are added to the standard victory point scoring in Feya’s Swamp, rewarding players who have successfully incorporated this additional resource into their strategy.
The two new clans bring asymmetric abilities that also influence how players approach fishing, trading, and temple exploration right up to the final round. The expansion does not alter the overall structure of the four rounds in the core game, but enriches each one with new decisions to make.
