Each player aligns with a hero from one of the four factions, represented by over-sized, premium character dials. Players take turn drafting cards from the center deck, attacking and planning their strategy to knock out all other players. Win by either mastering the power of the Infinity Shard or by destroying all who oppose you. Unlike the typical deckbuilding game, the fast-paced Shards of Infinity pulls you into the action from the very first turn!
The newest expansion of this game, Shards of Infinity: Shadow of Salvation, adds 118 cards, a new Hero dial counter, a new faction with new mechanics, and a brand new Campaign Mode that allows for cooperative play.

L’Ombre du Salut est une extension qui change le gameplay du jeu initial. Ici, vous n’êtes plus en compétition mais en coopération contre une armée d’ennemis. Le jeu de base Shards of Infinity est un de mes jeux favoris que j’ai toujours plaisir à ressortir. Il se joue très vite et les parties peuvent s’enchaîner aisément. Mais avec l’extension L’Ombre du Salut, l’expérience est toute autre et m’a pas mal refroidi. Le point positif principal qui était sa rapidité de jeu est ici complètement annulé. Il faudra prendre son temps pour optimiser les dégâts attribués aux joueurs et éviter de perdre (car cela risque fortement d’arriver). Il faudra donc bien se concerter.
L’Ombre du Salut n’est pas une mauvaise extension pour Shards of Infinity mais il faut bien prendre en compte que tout le gameplay est orienté autour d’un mode coopératif alors que le produit de base est un jeu stratégique compétitif et rapide. La magie n’a donc pas opéré avec moi cette fois-ci, ce n’est pas grave, cela arrive.
