La Cathédrale Rouge

Description

Lead a construction team to build St. Basil's Cathedral during the reign of the Tsar.

Fall is not the best time to climb scaffolding in Moscow, but it's still much better than doing it in winter.
Tsar Ivan wants to see results and our team will prove to him that we are the best builders in the city. We are sure to finish these decorative arches with the most brilliant stones and secure our place on the government's list of trusted workers.

The Red Cathedral is a very accessible game in terms of its rules because it is very easy to understand the different levels of the game, but it is still very interesting in terms of strategy. It will definitely appeal to those who are more interested in the challenge of trying to strategically optimize their position in each game rather than the complexity of the rules.

How the game works

During the game, players can perform one of three actions: assign a section of the cathedral, send resources to that section to build it, or go to the game board to get more resources.

Each of these actions has its own mechanics and requires players to pay close attention to what other players are doing. When the sections of the cathedral are assigned, players take possession of the slots in each of the columns that make up their section. The more sections built and the completion of each with its own tower, the more points the player will receive at the end of the game. Players can send resources to the sections of the cathedral they have claimed.

When they complete each of these sections, they will get rewards of money and prestige points. They will also be able to install decorations on the completed sections to get even more recognition from the Tsar. This part of the game also works like clockwork, as once a player has completed the construction of their sixth section, it ends the game.

The game board shows us the iconic red cathedral puck. This is where players get all the types of resources they need to complete their work on the cathedral, as well as to curry favor with guilds and professionals to make the most of their trip to the market.

In the center circle, players choose the die they wish to use and move forward as many spaces as indicated on the top side of the die, in order to obtain the resources indicated in the die's box.
