"Good morning ladies and gentlemen, I apologize for disturbing you at such an early hour. I'm Dr. John Watson, assistant to the detective Sherlock Holmes. You've probably already heard of him in connection with the Baskerville case. The police rely heavily on his help. Which brings us to the reason I've come to see you: Holmes has disappeared without a trace, and I don't think I can find him. His disappearance is upsetting our plans, as we had planned to investigate a kidnapping in Switzerland. He pauses to catch his breath, before continuing: "I'm desperate. I'm a doctor, a detective's assistant, it's not my job to find out where he's hiding. There are better people for that. That's why I've come to you. After Holmes, you are the most famous detectives in London. Would you be willing to help me find him? You really mean it? That's fantastic! May I then ask you to visit Mr. Holmes' home? He left a letter for me there, which I'd like to show you before you start your search."
