Everspark RPG, reigniting the spark of classic roleplaying
Everspark RPG aims to "reignite the spark" of early tabletop gaming, the feeling of rolling dice and playing a wizard without getting bogged down in rules or sourcebooks. Accessible to all ages, including kids, the game suits solo play, GM-less groups, and traditional GM-led sessions alike, favoring "yes, and..." storytelling over technical constraints.
A single-roll system and Sparks to manage challenges
Everspark RPG is built around an outcome scale: players roll a d20 and compare the result to a scale determining the quality of success, rather than adding modifiers or tracking stats. Its standout mechanic, Sparks, uses progress tracks (often kept on sticky notes) to handle anything from a boss fight to a long journey or a crafting project, structured by the N.A.C.H.O.S. framework (Name, Advance, Check, Hit, Overturn, Special). Usually, only players roll dice, letting the GM focus entirely on the narrative.
Fast character creation, with no fixed setting
Everspark RPG doesn't come with a pre-built setting, but offers tools and tables to collaboratively build a world while playing, with zero prep required. Character creation relies on the Ancestry, Background, and Class trio (20 options each), offering thousands of possible combinations, with characters defined by narrative traits rather than numerical stats.
