Ciboulette!

Description

Ciboulette! : a party game of counting and speed

Ciboulette! is a party game of observation and speed designed by Florent Boiton and Rémy Ponton, the duo behind the hit TTMC—Tu te mets combien?—published by L'Espadon Insouciant.

The game’s premise is based on a simple mental calculation that becomes chaotic under time pressure: as cards are flipped over on the table, players must constantly keep track of the total number of visible “balls” depicted on the cards. What makes *Ciboulette!* unique are its two distinct triggers that set off a rush toward the central Totem: reaching exactly six visible “balls” across all the cards, or seeing a special card appear that directly depicts the chive, regardless of the current count.

Setup and Gameplay

Setup involves placing the Totem in the center of the table and distributing the deck of cards among the players or creating a shared draw pile, depending on the chosen variant. Players then take turns flipping their cards face-up onto the communal discard pile, gradually revealing new balls, as well as disruptive elements such as acrobatic balls or aromatic herbs that alter the count or impose specific actions.

Each player must remain constantly alert, because as soon as the total number of visible meatballs reaches exactly six, or a Chives card appears, the race is on to grab the Totem before the opponents.

Victory Conditions and End of the Game

The player who is the fastest to grab the Totem when a trigger occurs generally wins the card in play or a point, depending on the rules being used, while the other players may incur a penalty if they were too slow or rushed in prematurely.

The game continues in this manner until the deck is exhausted, and the player who has won the most cards or points during the various races for the Totem wins the game.
