Liminal Horror - Playthings

Rules of the Toy Box:

• People are not toys.
• All toys must remain in the box.
• Being a person toy is a privilege.
• Playtime begins at dawn.
• Broken people toys are trash.

Playthings is a Liminal Horror funnel where investigators wake to find themselves unknowingly trapped inside a Resonant Artifact which pulls those who activate it into a demi-plane of plastic, a world which caters not to the characters but to the needs and entertainment of another. This world of plastic rewards the simple and punishes the complicated, diegetically wishing to deny Investigators any glimpse of their humanity outside. Childlike solutions and logic rules the day: colors are vibrant, games are fun, bad guys are Bad Guys and good guys are Good Guys. Innocence may lead a child to collect fireflies; curiosity leads them to rip their wings off.

 Inside the toybox is:

• 36 new backgrounds for Investigators, from the Executive Doll (with ‘90s cellphone and pantsuit!) to the plastic commando.
• A point crawl through Barb’s House of Dreams. Life in plastic can be drastic! 
• New horrors and creatures to investigate and overcome. Will you end the knotted slinky’s suffering, or will its tortured screams attract the dreaded Tin Robot?
