THORBJORG

Thorbjorg is the most famous seer of the northern lands. Her prophecies have guided Erik the Red and his sons to discover new lands for three generations, leading them to land on the distant shores of Vinland in the deep West.

Thanks to her Divinatory Art she can absorb the energy of the Runar shards and use it to heal the wounds she has suffered in the past. Her Curse allows her to steal the Action Cubes of opponents who dare to challenge her, but her greatest power is Future Sight, which allows her to read time by acting at a speed that enemies cannot perceive.

CANUTE

Canute was once a farmer. He loved to feed people, and he hated battle. The people of his clan considered him a coward despite the fact that he provided the best first fruits of the earth to his village. During a battle with an opposing clan, the warriors of his clan abandoned him, thinking he was expendable, but Canute saved himself and vowed vengeance; he became a disciple of Thorbjorg and founded the Northern Lodge, discovering that he could manipulate the earth with magic.

With his Knowledge of the Land and Command of the Leyline, Canute can use traps better than any other hero, turning the terrain of confrontation into a real minefield. With his darkest magic, Living Earth, he can shape the earth by turning it into a deadly enemy.

EGIL

Egil the Silent. This elderly Viking is a mystery. He follows Thorbjorg as a faithful guardian, establishing the Lodge of the North with her, and serving as its strong arm.

Unlike his companions, Egil is a mighty and very resilient mage. He channels the magical energies flowing into him, transforming them into physical strength through his Arcane Breath. In battle, he can harness Necropotence to obtain a vast number of Instinct Cubes that he can use in many different and unusual ways. Moreover, when he is in danger, he can rely on his most powerful skill, Terror, with which he can cause all those in his vicinity to flee in panic.

In the Hel expansion, there are also 3 new enemies that will face the Vikings (with as many as 18 miniatures!!) challenging you during a new dedicated campaign or in exciting single games.

DRAUGR (6 miniatures)

Those who walk again, the Draugr. These Viking warriors whose spirits have not reached Valhalla rise from their tombs, haunting the northern lands. Armed with rusty blades and driven by an unparalleled hatred, they are the terror of the battlefield, being able to rely on bodies unafraid of fatigue, animated by an otherworldly power that makes them as strong as giants.

A Draugr's tactic is simple; they charge enemies drawn to the Runar shards, then attack anyone within reach of their blade like a fury.

SEIDMANN (8 miniatures)

Those who have died through a painful death, as through the Blood Eagle, have plenty of time to curse their torturer and their sin. This force, in the moment of passing, sometimes transforms them thanks to Seidr, the dark magic that enables them to foresee and change their past.

Thus these tormented souls try to follow the desires of this dark art in order to stop suffering, to have a second chance and to redeem themselves in the eyes of the Gods.

Known as Seidmann, these beings haunt the battlefields attracted by the power of the Runar shards, but at the same time cannot tolerate their proximity because of the divine power they emanate.

HAUGBUI (4 miniatures)

He who guards, he who waits. A Haugbui is a nefarious spirit born of the resentment of warriors who died in dishonor. This conglomerate of evil seizes the bones of corpses in the grasps of burial sites, dresses itself in the remains of armor and harnesses weapons found on battlefields, and then relentlessly devotes itself to fighting anyone who approaches the death site of the unfortunates who birthed it.

On the battlefield, a Haugbui is a fearsome foe, assaulting with its long limbs anyone who comes near it, and chasing its enemies until it kills them without fear of fatigue.

New items and artifacts will aid the heroes in their quests, but the Vikings will also have two new kins of support:

FAMILIARS

Familiars are a new kind of item available for in game purchase. Each Clan can own a single Familiar, which will sit high up in the owner's Treasury, to be searchable at all times. Each Familiar adds three special Action Cards, which are to be shuffled into the clan's deck.

When a Familiar Action card is played, it will cause a Clan member of the player's choice to activate, also giving them the upgrade skill indicated on the Familiar card.

SPELLS

Spells are another new kind of item available for in game purchase. A spell is never equipped to a Hero but remains in the Treasury, always available.

By spending the Cubes indicated on the card, the active Hero can unleash the devastating effect of the Spell, activating it directly from the Treasury. But beware: each Spell can only be used a single time during the game!

In addition to all of this, Hel will provide you with a new campaign that can be played as a spin off or by integrating and mixing it with the missions in the core box. As with the core game, with Hel you can play single-player games to expand the variety of combinations available from the Runar core box.
