Each Jarl is linked to a clan, so you can only have one Jarl per war band.
With these six impressive new models, it will be possible to expand the game and play with up to 6 players.
Here are the two new clans added to the four in the core game: the Raven and Wolf clans.
In the box, you'll find everything you need to play with 6 players: new player villages (already included as playmats in the deluxe edition), new action cubes, new statues, new boxes, and all the other essential 3D components.
With this expansion, it will also be possible to use... mercenaries!
The Enemy cards in the Jarl expansion allow the Nemesis to use hero miniatures that are not participating in the game as enemies.
The Thegns, represented in the game by hero miniatures, are fast and powerful enemies who will actively try to keep the Shards away from the heroes while they fight.
Berserkrs (very special mercenaries), represented in the game by Jarl miniatures, are a true force of nature, capable of mowing down entire ranks of heroes in their path.
Mercenary enemy cards can also be included in any Runar game, further increasing the variety of play.
This expansion includes several obstacles to customize the battlefield in new ways, as well as two copies of each of the obstacles from the core game, giving you six copies of each obstacle.
In addition to the elements contained in the base box, you'll find flags to plant on the ground to conquer other territories, magical ice walls that allow you to teleport, effigies of the Aesir capable of granting powerful blessings, and much more!
New rules for scenic elements will also add new ways to use the elements from the base box to make them more interactive for those who enjoy more difficult challenges.
And all of this can be used in both Campaign mode and Simple Game mode!

Now let's take a closer look at the centerpiece of the expansion: Runar - Jarl Box
Their ability to support other members of the warband when activated introduces new tactical topics to study and experiment with, all of which can make a difference in battle.
Jarls are immediately recognizable by their size and 45 mm base.
Let's review each Jarl, while sharing some information about their history.
IVAR THE RAVEN
Ivar Ragnarsson, Ivar the Boneless, Ivar the Merciless!
Son of the great king Ragnar Lodbrok and the demigod princess Aslaug, he was born cursed and without legs. This did not dampen his Viking zeal. He grew up wanting to equal or even surpass his father's exploits, learning the art of combat from his legendary grandfather Sigurd and the secrets of runes from his grandmother Brunhild.
His keen senses and intelligence led him to become the leader of the Raven Clan, formed by the new generation of northern warriors. Accompanied by his brothers Bjorn, Ubbe, and Halfdan, Ivar terrorized many southern kingdoms until Alfarinn convinced him to search for Runar, who could heal him. Although some of his brothers chose other paths to glory, Ivar was never abandoned by the devoted Ubbe, with whom he developed a unique symbiotic fighting style.
Ivar, who now leads the Raven clan to the Isle of the Immortals, is prepared to oppose his own family to conquer Runar.
Ivar is a master of combat, capable of leading even the most inexperienced warrior to victory. He compensates for his lack of speed with an impenetrable defense provided by his brother Ubbe, who also allows him to move with cubes of any color. His Attack!, Charge!, and Encircle abilities ensure that his band of warriors never run out of action cubes, no matter the situation.
SNORRI OF THE WOLF
Snorri is a character shrouded in mystery. He leads the Wolf Clan, a nomadic clan that draws its strength from the bonds that unite its members. Their travels have brought them into contact with many different civilizations, and Snorri has acquired knowledge from each of them, learning many arts unknown in the northern lands, even that of writing, considered almost magical by their Viking brothers.
Snorri is an ambiguous individual, dressing in such a way that no one can tell whether he is a man or a woman, young or old, and many say that he can change his face if necessary. Although he leads his clan in search of the Runar, this Jarl seems more interested in writing down the history of the events unfolding on the Isle of the Immortals, and some believe that his real goal is to discover the true identity of the mysterious Alfarinn.
Snorri is a skald capable of inspiring his companions to give their best, even in the most desperate situations. Thanks to his giant wolf Nifle, Snorri can cross the battlefield without worrying about the presence of enemies; moreover, his mere presence influences his companions thanks to the Inspiration skill, which grants them additional action cubes.
With Skald's Song, Snorri can reinvigorate his allies' defenses and prepare them for epic feats, but his most powerful skill, Epic Ode, allows a companion to transform into a true legendary hero.
RAGNAR THE BOAR
Ragnar Lodbrok, Ragnar the King, Ragnar the Boar Rider.
A legendary figure in the northern lands, Ragnar is one of the greatest warriors ever born among the Vikings. His strength and tactical sense led him to dominate other clans, creating something akin to a Viking kingdom. He traveled and raided, becoming one of the first Vikings to reach the southern kingdoms and come into contact with their inhabitants.
During his travels, he met the only man capable of standing up to him in a duel, the famous King Sigurd, who saw enough potential in him to allow him to marry his daughter, Princess Aslaug, a demigoddess whose mother, Brunhild, was once a Valkyrie.
Ragnar and Aslaug bore sons who became famous Viking heroes and clan leaders. When the hunt for the Runar began, Ragnar's family rallied together, uniting the banners of the Boar, the Raven, and the Stag, vowing that they would conquer the divine artifact even if fate forced them to cross swords.
Ragnar is the strongest and fastest Viking. Tireless and indestructible, he can harness his war boar Gorgo to crush his enemies, using agility cubes and shields to perform actions that would otherwise require other resources.
With his powerful war cry, he can then awaken the fervor of his allies by strengthening their defenses.
HARALD OF THE WALRUS
Harald the Clear, Harald Fairhair, Harald the Unifier.
This powerful and fearless warrior is the jarl of the Walrus clan, known for his strength and fury in battle.
Harald was long the right-hand man of the legendary Ragnar Lodbrok, with whom he pillaged many southern lands. Their brotherhood was broken by Harald's jealousy of his friend, which led him to challenge him, promising that one day he would conquer all his domains.
Harald gathered many small bands of warriors to form his clan, and thanks to the finest longship ever seen in the northern lands, capable of breaking through the eternal ice, he was able to assemble an army capable of reaching any location. He thus gradually established himself as the new ruler of the north.
When Alfarin told him that Ragnar and his family had gone in search of the Runar, he wasted no time. Sounding the clan's mighty rallying horn, he summoned his captains and descended into battle. Now, no one can stop them in their conquest.
Harald is a swift warrior who tends to dominate the areas where he stops. With the help of his powerful war walrus Hallr, he can manipulate the positions of the opponents facing him.
When wounded in battle, Harald uses “Uncontrollable” to rage and gain wild cubes. His most powerful skill, “Rage,” allows him to crush a single enemy like an insect.
BRUNHILD OF THE STAG
Brunhild the Valkyrie, Brunhild the Wise, Brunhild the Ancient.
The legends of the mighty Jarl of the Stag have been lost to time and myth. It is said that she was one of the Valkyries in the service of Odin himself, and that he condemned her to eternal sleep on Midgard after angering him. Brunhild was awakened from her slumber by the greatest hero of the north, Sigurd, who married her and learned from her the secrets of the Aesir and the powers of the runes.
While others aged, Brunhild remained almost unchanged in age. When Sigurd grew old, he decided to relieve his wife of her burden so that they could experience one last great adventure in the very place where he had found her in his youth, the immortal island.
Having lost track of her husband, Brunhild led the Deer clan to the family enclave presided over by her son-in-law, King Ragnar, where her famous grandchildren lived. There, the clans made a pact to find the Runar, but Brunhild's real goal was to find her lost love. However, something troubled her: her powers of clairvoyance, dormant for the past few years, had become powerful again and constantly showed her a winged being ready to hunt. Could it be that a Valkyrie sister was after her?
In battle, Brunhild rides Ragnvall, her powerful elk, which allows her to channel her powers through the runes inscribed on its horns.
Her abilities allow her to channel the power of the Wind rune, the Rock rune, and the Fire rune through her companions, enabling the rest of her band of warriors to perform additional actions when she is the active hero.
INGEBORG OF THE BEAR
Ingeborg the Violent, Ingeborg the Brutal, Ingeborg the Queen.
Ingeborg of the Bear Clan is known throughout the northern lands for ruling over the Viking peoples before the rise of King Ragnar. Rising to a position of command at a young age, the other Jarls could not contain the strength and fury of this fearless warrior.
In an epic challenge for control of the Viking lands, Ingeborg and Ragnar faced off in a duel.
Few would have bet on Ragnar's victory. It was only through the secrets of the runes revealed by his wife Aslog and his mother-in-law Brunhild that Ragnar was able to defeat Ingeborg's defenses, cutting off her leg and taking control of the north.
Filled with anger and thirsting for revenge, Ingeborg left for the Isle of the Immortals after learning of the Runar and the expedition of Ragnar and his family members in search of the divine artifact.
The Bear Clan has regrouped, but they are not interested in the Runar; what they want is the blood of King Ragnar and his lineage!
Ingeborg enters the battle riding her mighty white bear Adalsteinn, which allows her to launch devastating double attacks by sacrificing her defenses.
Thanks to her “Take Them!” ability, she can gain defenses and resources while allowing an ally to surround her prey. But Ingeborg's greatest power is the terror and respect that other Vikings have for her; in fact, she only needs to use “Kneel!” for her friends and enemies to fall at her feet.
