Tedoku

Reference: NUT049TE

Up to six people can play Tedoku (or even more, if you use extra pencils). The rules are extremely simple, and players take turns but play simultaneously, which immediately creates a lively atmosphere around the table. Players try to arrange the randomly falling polyominos as best they can and hope that the next ones will fit into the spaces they’ve left empty.

Tedoku

Description

Place the shapes in your Sudoku-style grid using your strategy and ingenuity.

Each player has a 9x9 grid inspired by Sudoku, which they must fill in over the course of more than 20 rounds using dice rolls and card draws. At the start of each round, a card is turned over and the Tedoku die is rolled.

The card designates an area of the grid—a row, a column, or a 3x3 sector—while the die indicates which polyomino shape must be drawn.

All players use the same information, placing the shape so that part of it touches the designated area. Shapes can be rotated or flipped, but they must not overlap or extend beyond the grid’s boundaries.

If a player cannot place the shape according to the rules, they skip their turn. After 20 turns, players score points for completed rows, columns, and 3x3 sectors.

The player with the highest score wins; in the event of a tie, the player with the fewest empty squares wins.
