Palourde & Grande Marée – At a Glance

A light breeze of madness blows across the beach — you’ll now be fishing at Marée Basse and Marée Haute. But beware… you won’t be catching the same things at each tide!

With Grande Marée, the shoreline shifts, conditions evolve, and new surprises shake up the game: sea creatures, washed-up objects… and even a hidden treasure!

The mood remains light and family-friendly, but each game becomes more varied, interactive… and joyfully chaotic!

The rules:
Setup and rules are the same as in the base game, with the addition of the new expansion cards.
 The game starts at low tide (Marée Basse). Each time a Tide card is revealed, players must adapt:

  • At Marée Basse, only clams (palourdes) can be collected.

  • At Marée Haute, only fish can be caught.

The new Folie cards spice up the game with special abilities:

  • Starfish – play again immediately

  • Octopus – flip up to 4 cards at once!

  • Anchor – reserve a card for later

  • Rudder – reverse the turn order

  • Jellyfish – paralyze an opponent for one round

A Treasure is hidden somewhere on the beach. Whoever finds it scores extra victory points at the end of the game!

The game ends when all Tide cards have been revealed. Each player adds up their points from clams, fish, and treasure.
The fisher with the most points wins the legendary Palourde d’Or!

The rules are simple and accessible to everyone. They’re available in both French and English in the box, and a video version is available on our website.

Design & Manufacturing:

Palourde and its expansion Grande Marée were created during a time of recovery following an accident. They represent a return to the essentials: playing, laughing, and sharing.
This is a tribute to the sea, to childhood beach memories, and to life’s simple pleasures.

Each card is hand-painted in watercolor. The cards are printed in France, the boxes are made in Italy, and the wooden token is produced in France.
