Each player receives a 36-card deck, consisting of 3 cards of 12 different ceremonies (there are 16 different ceremonies in the base game).
Each player has a board with spaces for four ceremonies. His playing area consists of the four spaces on his board and the two spaces closest to his left and right neighbors (a total of 8 spaces).
On his turn, the player can draw a card, start a ceremony on his own board, as long as there is no such ceremony in progress in his play area, or play a card from his hand in any ceremony in his play area. Once started, a ceremony in your player grants a special ability until it is completed.
Ceremonies are over after the fourth card is played in them, and the player claims a Victory Point Tile, and draws an End of Game Token if none is available. When all End of Game Chits have been drawn, the game ends. The player who has collected the most victory points is the winner.
