JinxO, a Word-Association Game by Tabletoys Games
JinxO is a party game designed by Martin Ang for Indonesian publisher Tabletoys Games, also distributed in Europe under the name Dito!. The goal is to write answers to shared prompts, hoping they match a specific number of other players. Its originality lies in its scoring system: an overly obvious answer scores few points, an overly original one scores none, and the top score comes from matching with exactly one other player, a moment called JinxO.
Setup and Gameplay
Each player receives an erasable board with a 3x3 grid and a marker. Each round, a topic is drawn and all players secretly write three answers, repeated until the nine squares on the board are filled. Answers are then revealed in turn: if no one else wrote it, the player scores nothing; if several players share the same answer, each scores one point; if exactly one other player shares it, both shout JinxO and earn a scoring bonus.
Win Conditions and End of Game
The game ends once all squares on every board have been revealed. Bonus points are awarded for each row or column fully completed with matching answers. The player with the most points at the end of the final count wins the game.
