Under the big top, jugglers, clowns, magicians, strongmen and wild beasts arouse the curiosity of a devoted audience that never stops applauding. After each performance, your little troupe accumulates honors and may one day arouse the interest of P.T. Barnum, the greatest circus magnate of all time.
In 3 Ring Circus, players take on the role of a circus manager traveling the United States in the late 19th century. Your aim is to hire performers and put on shows in different cities in order to gain notoriety. In cities, shows are easy to put on and give you start-up resources to improve your troupe; small towns are a little more demanding, but they allow you to get in touch with better performers; big-city audiences are even more demanding and want to see very specific acts, but performing there brings you a lot more fame!
In turn, players can hire an artist or organize a show. At the start of the game, each player's circus is empty, so you'll need to contract artists to form your company. Artists' cards grant more or less advantages depending on the order in which they act, so one of the keys to the game is to plan the shows that will be offered.
