Résistance - La Lutte Contre Franco

Lead a band of resistance fighters as they attempt to reclaim their homeland!

At the end of the Spanish Civil War, a group of Republican loyalists, known as maquisards, continue to fight for democracy and freedom.
Spain, 1936: General Franco and his troops advance into Spanish territory, paving the way for a long period of civil war and repression. After the Spanish Civil War, a group of loyalists to the Republic continue the armed struggle, forming resistance groups better known as "Maquis". Hiding in the mountains, these men and women risked their lives to defend the ideals of democracy and freedom.

Franco's army, civil guard and armed police were fighting against them, but the Maquis had perfected their guerrilla warfare in France during the Second World War and were determined to take back their homeland. In every Maquisard's head echoes the desire of many compatriots: Resist!

Over the course of a series of rounds, you take on increasingly difficult missions, and completing them successfully earns you the points you need to win. If you fail to defeat missions and enemies, you risk losing. At the end of each round, you must choose whether to end the resistance or risk undertaking a new mission.

At the start of the game, you assemble a team of twelve Maquisards, represented by a deck of cards. At the heart of the game is the tension between keeping your Maquis hidden from Franco or revealing it to unleash its full potential. Unfortunately, revealed Maquis are removed from your deck and you probably won't be able to use them for the rest of the game.

Although Resistance - The Struggle Against Franco features some minor elements of deckbuilding, it is first and foremost a game of "card destruction" in which you have to manage your cards, balancing the decision to defeat the immediate threat and try to move on to the next mission.
